Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday #41

This is my 41st installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Mac MacKenzie from Blush For Me by Kristen Proby.

As the take-charge wine bar manager of Seduction, Portland’s hottest new restaurant, Katrina Meyers is the definition of no-nonsense, and she isn’t afraid of anything. Well, almost anything: she hates to fly. When she’s forced to travel on a death trap with wings, the turbulence from hell has her reaching for any safe haven—including the incredibly handsome guy sitting next to her.

Ryan “Mac” MacKenzie hasn’t been able to get his sexy seatmate out of his head. The way she clung to him stirred something inside him he didn’t think existed: tenderness. As the owner of a successful wine touring company, Mac thinks he’s got a handle on what life can throw at him and he’s not prepared for any surprises, especially in the feelings department. And when he brings a tour into Seduction, he sees the petite spitfire he just can’t forget.

Mac is determined to discover what else they have in common besides fine wine and the inability to keep their hands off each other. But what will it take for two stubborn people to realize that what they have is so much more than a hot chemistry between the sheets and to admit to falling in love…?

Ryan “Mac” MacKenzie is flying to Napa for a wine convention, when he’s seated next to Kat Meyers – who is absolutely terrified of flying.  He calms her down and gets her through the flight.  It turns out Kat is going to the same convention, so she and Mac sign up (metaphorically) for a “sexcation”.  Turns out, Mac lives in Portland and in the same building as Kat!  I loved Mac.  He was sweet and romantic and he would READ TO KAT from her kindle.  Can you imagine having a guy read your romance novels to you?  Super hot.  Love this whole series (and pretty much anything Kristen Proby writes).  But Mac was really great!

Man Crush Monday #40

This is my 40th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Kline Brooks from Tapping the Billionaire by Max Monroe.

Blind dates? Online dating profiles? Been there, done that.

tapping the billionaireGeorgia Cummings has zero luck with dating, and the era of the internet is not her friend. No matter how fast she runs, how many corners she turns, she can’t find her way out of this weird, alternate universe where men think dick pics are a replacement for small talk and getting to know a girl. One more crotch selfie and she might write men off for good…

But why can’t she stop fantasizing about him?

Kline Brooks is the quintessential billionaire bad boy—dark, styled, short hair, muscles for days, and a panty-dropping smile. Except—he isn’t.  As his employee, he won’t touch her with a ten foot pole. But she won’t touch him either.

Kline Brooks is the owner of Brooks Media, a large publishing company.  He’s a billionaire, but doesn’t act like one. He finally realizes he has been overlooking his employee Georgia Cummings for months, and takes steps to remedy that situation.  Kline is really funny, and this book made me laugh out loud a few times.  I can’t find the other two books in the series to “borrow”, which makes me sad, but I’ll find them!  This book is great, and I loved Kline!

Man Crush Monday #39

This is my 39th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Levi Michaelson from Levi’s Blue by M. Leighton.

Goodreads Summary

levi's blueFour beautiful days. Three steamy nights. One breathtaking love. Levi Michaelson. He wanted four dates. Four opportunities to prove I could trust him. Four chances to change my mind about him. I agreed.

Probably not my smartest decision. He was everything I knew to avoid—gorgeous, charming, sexy as hell—but I couldn’t help myself. When he touched me the whole world disappeared. I should’ve known I could lose myself to him, that he could be the one man to destroy me.

I guess it’s true what they say—some things are too good to be true. And Levi Michaelson might just be one of them.

Levi Michaelson attends an art show and literally catches Evie de Champlain.  Evie is blind and has given up all hope of ever finding love, until she meets Levi.  Levi is very persistent, and won’t give up until Evie lets him take her out.  Levi was the sweetest man I’d read in a while.  He would vividly describe things to Evie so that she could picture them in her minds eye.  He made her step out of her comfort zone and he was incredibly patient and loving.  He was such a great guy!!

This is my 38th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Ryan Pierce from Delivery Girl by Lily Kate.

delivery girlGood things come in extra-large, smoking hot packages. Things like pizza.

The very pizzas that I deliver for my dad’s restaurant, Peretti’s Pizza. It’s a temporary job, something to pay the bills until I graduate from school, but it does the trick. In fact, it’s working quite well until Ryan Pierce of the LA Lightning decides to order a pizza from me, and life as I know it turns upside down.

You see, Ryan Pierce doesn’t just open his front door. He opens it buck naked. And suddenly, I’m not the one boasting the biggest, hottest package in the room. However, it’s what happens next that makes my stomach flip upside down whenever my phone beeps. Ryan starts to call, and then text, and then fifteen pizza deliveries and one hot-as-sin kiss later, we’re friends. So when he asks me to be his fake girlfriend at his brother’s wedding, I’m happy to help. But the longer we pretend, the more I worry that this is one package I might not be able to handle.

Ryan Pierce is a professional hockey player in Minnesota, but he’s in California to meet with a new agent about a possible new move to the LA team.  He orders a pizza and opens the door wearing only a towel to the cutest delivery girl he’s ever seen.  He then proceeds to order more pizzas then one person should, just to be able to spend more time with Andi, the delivery girl.  Ryan was sweet, romantic and a true gentleman.  He was so sweet and one of the best guys I read in a while.

Man Crush Monday #37

This is my 37th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Breccan Carlisle from Undisputed by A.S. Teague.

Goodreads Summary

undisputedI live a life most could only dream of. Parties, women, fame—what more could I want?

As the undisputed MMA light heavyweight champ, I’ve faced the world’s toughest men. But, with a single glance, I knew that the five-foot-five redhead with a smart mouth and innocent eyes would be my hardest opponent yet.   Sidney O’Neil isn’t my type. While I spend my nights out drinking at the trendiest clubs in town, she spends hers taking care of her sick nephew. She is nothing I thought I wanted, yet she’s somehow become the one thing I need.  But what happens when the world is tipped on end and I’m no longer who she needs? How do I convince her that we’re worth the fight when all she knows is defeat?
I’ve never lost a match, and I refuse to start now. But, sometimes, the toughest fight of your life is outside the cage.

Breccan Carlisle is an MMA fighter who is up-and-coming.  He’s got a bad rep as a party animal, and his manager wants him to tone it down.  He hears that a young boy who is ill has “made a wish” to meet him.  Breccan wants nothing to do with this, but it ends up changing his life in the best way possible.  Breccan was so amazing with Connor, the young boy who was sick.  Not only does Breccan end up granting his wish, they end up becoming good friends.  Breccan is an amazing guy:)

This is my 36th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Evan Chamberlain from Southern Pleasure  by Kaylee Ryan.

Goodreads Summary

southern-pleasureThey tell you that a parent’s love is all consuming. I never put much thought into it. Not until the minute I heard her take her first breath. That little girl is my world. I’d do anything to protect her.

My ex signed over her rights and her family vowed that my daughter didn’t exist. Now that she’s gone, they want my little girl. They’re trying to say I can’t give her what she needs.

I’ve known Evan all my life. Our families farms run parallel with each other. He and my brother Aaron have been best friends for as long as I can remember.

What they’re trying to do is wrong. He needs my help, someone he can trust and I’m more than happy to do it. I volunteered without hesitation.

I should have thought about what it would be like to have our lives intertwined. I should have thought about what would happen when our time together ended and how my heart would feel when I had to walk away.

Evan Chamberlain finds out that this ex-girlfriend is pregnant and doesn’t want the baby.  He begs the ex to keep the baby and sign over parental rights to him.  All at 24 years old.  That’s incredibly mature for a 24 year old.  Evan is incredibly kind and generous.  He is such a good daddy, and when he realized he needed help and was in over his head, he didn’t even hesitate to accept McKinley’s help.  Just an amazing guy and I love this series!

Man Crush Monday #35

This is my 35th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Justin Cocker from Cocky Senator by Faleena Hopkins.

cocky-senatorJUSTIN
I’m about to run for Senator, the youngest Georgia’s seen in 200 years. For my whole life, this has been my obsession. It’s why I went to Yale. Why I work twelve hour days. I don’t want kids. I don’t want a wife. I don’t believe in marriage, for a very good reason that I will never share with anyone.

Going to Washington is all I ever think about, until a smoky-eyed beauty orders, “Jameson whiskey, rocks,” and accepts my invitation to what turns out to be the hottest sex of my life.

When she leaves me standing there staring after her and zipping up my pants, wondering who the hell she is, I try like hell to ignore the fact that my obsession just switched…to her.

JAIMIE
My father needs me. So here I am at the airport leaving everything I’ve built in Boston and everyone I know, in order to move to Atlanta. Hence the booze before noon on a Tuesday.

When Justin Cocker appears at my side, offering himself up as a stress-reliever, I know he doesn’t recognize me. Why would he? I only went to his high school for one year, and I was hideous back then. Late bloomer – that’s me.  He’s gorgeous and dirty-minded. Best of all is the look in his eyes. Desire. Lust. Need. He leans in and smirks, “I know a janitor’s closet that locks.”  You think a lady would turn down such an offer, wouldn’t you? Not today she wouldn’t.

Justin Cocker wasn’t my favorite in the previous four books, but he is now my favorite Cocker Brother.  Justin is running for Senate when he’s hit with a shocker; Justin does the right thing and bows out of the race.  Justin was pretty darn stubborn during this book, but given that he stood up and did the right thing, made me totally respect him.  I would recommend this series to anyone (though book 2 and 3 weren’t my favorites).

Man Crush Monday #34

This is my 34th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Nate Ryan from Hooker by Brooke Blaine.

Goodreads Summary

Whoever said singles were missing out by not finding true love and getting married before the age of thirty had never experienced the sheer pleasure of nightly romantic comedy hookerviewings in their underwear while eating one of Licked’s famous Crazy Cat Lady sundaes. Because life just doesn’t get better than that.

At least, it doesn’t for Shayne Callahan. It didn’t take more than a handful of broken hearts after college to solidify that she was better at pairing up those around her than herself. As a matchmaker at the elite HLS—Hook, Line, & Sinker Matchmaking Company—in the City of Angels, she has a knack for finding the other halves of even the most eccentric clients:

Sugar daddy with a foot fetish? Gross, but no problem.
A severe case of nudophobia? Match made before lunch.

But even the most happily independent of women can find their best-laid plans screeching to a halt when they meet that guy. For Shayne, that guy comes in the form of boyishly handsome, suspender-lovin’, dimple-poppin’ Nate Ryan on a pantsless (we’ll get to that later) Metro ride. Of course, relationships can never be easy. Before the destined lovers can ride off into the sunset, they must overcome a power-hungry and sexual-punning boss, a celebrity scandal and cover-up, and let’s not forget Shayne’s dreadful foot-in-mouth disease—with which there can never be a happily ever after. Will fate throw Shayne a freakin’ bone? Or will she be destined to live out her life as sexy(ish), single(ish), and L.A.’s finest Hooker (upper)?

Nate Ryan sees Shayne on a pantsless subway ride and is instantly smitten.  Shayne is put off – why? Because Nate is a few years younger.  Nate was more mature than a lot of book heroes I’ve read recently, and I freaking loved him.  He was hilarious, sweet and romantic.  And he put up with a lot of crap from Shayne.  Nate is one of the best guys I’ve read in a long time, therefore he’s my MCM this week.

Man Crush Monday #33

This is my 33rd installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Lucas Thatcher from Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey.

Goodreads Summary

Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.  It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he.

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with anything-you-can-dointimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.  Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

Lucas Thatcher deserves an award for putting up with such a spoiled brat in Daisy!  Daisy always viewed Lucas as her enemy, even though it was pretty obvious that he didn’t view their relationship in the same way.  He was so sweet and funny, and there is a side story in the book that I won’t spoil, but it will make you love him even more!

Man Crush Monday #32

This is my 32nd installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Trick Tennyson from Trick by trickLaramie Briscoe.

Goodreads Summary

Hadley

When my husband walked out on me over a year ago, it devastated me. When the divorce papers came, it killed me. When we had to sell our house, it broke me. But then he moved in with his new flavor of the month and told our daughter his new woman wasn’t into children. That pissed me off.  Now Riley feels abandoned, and I can’t make it better; no matter how hard I try. I’m desperate to help her adjust to the loss of a male figure in her life. The companion program that matches adults up with children who have loneliness and abandonment issues is my last hope.  The counselors tell me he’s doing community service hours, and I ask to sit in on his meetings with Riley. The minute I see him astride the matte black Harley, I know neither my nor Riley’s life will ever be the same again.

Trick

Community Service. Two words I should be thankful for, but I’m not. I resent the hours it’s away from building my business. The two previous kids I’d been paired up with didn’t work out because their mothers were more interested in getting in my bed. This next match with a little girl is my last hope. Unless this kid works out, I’m destined to serve time.  When they push her into the room wearing pink converse with a black dress, her crazy curls barely held back by the barrette in her hair, and studious glasses on her face, I can tell she’s scared – of new people, of change, of being pushed aside. Something inside of me breaks, and I want this girl to feel wanted again. What I’m unprepared for is meeting her mom. The second our hands touch, there are fireworks, bright lights, and a picture of the future I could one day have. The future I’ve never allowed myself to wish for. Community service becomes more than a chore, more than time I resent for being taken away from me. In the months that follow, I realize they’re just like me: they’ve been abandoned, left behind by the world, forgotten by those who should love them. Thanks to the one last hope in both our lives – we found the light in the darkness we’d been searching for.

Patrick (Trick) Tennyson is almost too good to be true.  He’s had some trouble with the law, and joins a Companion Program, to be “a big brother” type to a child.  He meets Riley and her mom Hadley, and Trick knows he’s in trouble.  After years of being alone, and never thinking he could find happiness, he starts to believe.  Trick was kind, sweet, loving and loyal.  He was so amazing with Riley, whom he nicknamed Sprite.  He treated her better than her own father did.  Despite being covered in tattoos and garnering some odd looks from people, he was pretty much the perfect man, and I loved this book!
